I worked on Stone Age Story for about nine months. I came onto the project wanting to animate, but the rigs weren't done. So in the meantime, I modeled some of the props (such as the hammer, some bamboo, seaweed, and a chisel). Not too complicated, but it was really fun. Then 3 months later we could finally start animating. I animated the scene with the Phenakistoscope (the big wheel) and the scene where they are coming up with their final master plan. It was about 2 minutes of animation when we started and was eventually trimmed down to a mere minute and a half. This was the most animation I had done at once and the most complete. School projects are typically about 20 second shorts that you have about 11 weeks to create, animate, and polish. I rarely reached the polishing stage before this.
This was also the first production team I had been a part of. It was a lot more interesting than I had expected. It was full of unusual jokes and no actual fights. Stephen seemed to have everything put together and well organized, which I think made the process a lot better. Not to mention I think he enjoys bombarding all of our e-mails with his motivational speeches and organized charts with multiple colors. Just joking, they actually made the production process smoother and more enjoyable.
